A Day At The Orchard!

Welcome back sunshine, I hope your day has been nothing but amazing! Thank you so much for joining me today here on Polka Dots and Peonies: The Blog, I am so so excited about today’s post! If you didn’t already know yesterday my mom and went to the Orchard, how exciting is that?!!?! I know right, tons of fun!

So every year, for as long as I can remember my mom has taking me apple picking at a local Orchard about an hour away from our house! It’s an all day even that takes place in the Klein family (I plan to continue the tradition when I have children), and even my Nana comes with us! The day consists of getting up early grabbing a coffee (possibly a snack as well) and hitting the road! My mom and I like to be some of the first people to get there that way we have better picking! HAHA We usually go in

October or late September because while picking apples we also pick out our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch! Which is probably one of my favorite parts of the day!

So now that you know the background of our days at the Orchard let’s talk about what we were doing there in July! So little to our surprise our favorite place to pick apples also has strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blueberries, and green beans (to pick this time of year, but later in the season they also have an array of vegetables) and we were so excited to go and pick some fresh fruit!

Continuing on with our tradition we woke up super early, grabbed our coffee (you can’t do this trip without coffee) and hit the road! I made sure to bring the aux cord in case you were wondering! In about an hour we found ourselves pulling up to the Orchard and not too many people were there yet! One tractor had taken people out to the fields and we would be the next ones to go!

First stop, red raspberries!! I promise I was probably eating more than I was picking of these gems! I love red raspberries and when my mom told me her pint was full, mine was barely half way there! OOPS! So I decided to pick them and actually put them in the container rather my mouth! You would be surprised how fast your container fills up when you aren’t eating them!!

Raspberries, check! Next stop, strawberries! This was the part I was most looking forward too!! I absolutely LOVE garden fresh strawberries, and if you’ve never had one you’re most definitely missing out! When it came to eating the strawberries I had no shame! Every time my mom looked over at me I was shoving my face with one! Again, by the time my mom had a full basket of them I was only half way there! These bad boys were just so so good I couldn’t help but eat them! Finally I filled my basket full of the prettiest strawberries I could pick!

Now that we had both of our red fruits picked it was on to the blue one! Next wagon ride stop, blueberries! Girl if you thought your hands got stained from picking strawberries, you have another thing coming when picking blueberries! They definitely call them blueberries for a reason! I’ll be completely honest, I’m not the biggest fan of blueberries but when I tried these, they were so much better than the ones you buy in store, (no shock there) that I just wanted to eat them all! My mom and I worked together this time (I promise I didn’t eat as many) and filled up one box pretty quickly!

While we were waiting for the tractor to come pick us back up we started munching on black raspberries! OH MY GOSH, these were AMAZING!!! I have never tired black raspberries before this, I honestly didn’t even know they existed, but before I knew it I was shoving my mouth full of them! No surprise there! Eventually (since I liked them so much) I started picking them and putting them in my container! I just had to have some for home!

Before I knew it momma and I were paying for our fruit and heading home! We got some amazing hand-picked fruit, spent time together, and honestly just had a blast! I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post as much as I loved it!

Let me know if you like posts like these as well as blog post you want to see from me in the future! I love and appreciate each and every one of you!

Target Clearance Finds!!!!

Hey, hello there sunshine and welcome back to Polka Dots and Peonies: The Blog. I just wanted to pop on here and talk about some of the amazing finds I have recently got from Target!!

I’m pretty sure that these days almost ALL girls are OBSESSED with Target! I mean am I right or am I right??! HAHAHA!! Well at-least my group of girls and I are!! More times than not, when I talk to girls we always connect about our love for Target and all of their amazing products! My friend Hannah and I joke that we started shopping there before it was cool, and that’s still the story I am sticking with! LOL!! Honestly though, her and I were shopping there when we were like 12 and 13!  LOL

Anyways, I go on Target hunts all the time, because you can find some amazing things at great prices!!! I love all things fashion and beauty related, but I also like to do that on a budget! I want products that aren’t going to break my bank, but that still have amazing quality! That my lovelies is where Target steps in!! They always are having some kind of sale going on, or clearance sections, on top of their already great prices!!

My first stop is always the clothing section, because well… I don’t know! LOL!! That’s just always where I decide to start, and the other week I was so happy I did! They were having a sale on basic t-shirts, and I was actually in the market for some! I just couldn’t bring myself to spend $20 on a plain t-shirt! Well these bad boys were only $5!!! Yes you heard me right, they were on sale for just $5! On top of that, they are originally only $8, so you bet your bottoms dollar I will be purchasing more of these basic tees from the brand ‘A New Day’ at Target! I love the scoop neck look, and these are just so soft and comfortable, and even better, great quality! (I have been living in the stripped one)  Just a heads up, I personally think they run small, so I suggest sizing up! I typically where a medium, and I purchased them in a large!!

Once I shop the clothes I always head over to the shoes because at my Target they are right next to each other!! Okay let me just say it, my loves, I have a shoe problem… I’M OBSESSED WITH THEM!!!! Hahaha!! I have found some of my favorite shoes at Target, especially in the clearance section lol! When I found these loafers by the brand ‘A New Day’ (I have been loving their entire line), they IMMEDIATELY were put in my cart without hesitation!!! These purple velvet loafers are talked about in my previous blog post “Head Over Heals”, and I was talking about how I just needed them in my life! Well I finally have them, and I scored both of these shoes for $7.48 a piece!! That’s a steal if you ask me! They were basically paying me to buy them!!

Once I’m done looking at the shoes I typically head over to the jewelry, because what girl doesn’t need a cute pair of earrings in their life!?!!? I have been loving the these two brands, ‘A New Day’ and ‘Sugarfix By Baublebar’ they are both super affordable for all my girls who don’t want to break the bank!! These earrings are great quality and always the perfect compliment to any girls outfit. These were all purchased on the clearance section ranging form $4.98-$6.98!! WHAT A STEAL!!!!! Again you just cannot go wrong with these beauties!

Once I check out the jewelry section I will sometimes just briefly stroll through the beauty area, well yesterday I was so glad I did! I have been looking for a new hairspray and I just happen to see these sitting on the clearance shelf and I thought I would check it out! I’m very familiar with the brand ‘Bed Head TIGI’ so I thought okay what is this! Well I just happen to find 4, Mini Masterpiece Massive Shine Hairspray for $0.56 a piece!!!!! You guys I paid $2.24 for all for of these bad boys!! I was jumping for joy when I saw the price on these that I literally cleared the shelf of them! They are a great salon brand, and these smell amazing so I can’t wait to try them out!!!

That is it for todays post my lovelies!! With that being said, I dare you to shop your local Target’s clearance and let me know what you find!! If you already do shop the clearance what are some of your FAVORITE finds???

Love always, Chloé Danielle.

My Go-To Starbucks Drinks!

41ce49d1-97a0-4c81-8603-6e2c32817d95Hey, Hello there, and welcome back to Polka Dots and Peonies the Blog Sunshine!

Today I just wanted to have a fun easy read of my favorite go-to drinks from Starbucks! I used to work at a Starbucks, so you can only imagine all of the crazy drinks I got to make! Some were crazy good, and some were just plain crazy! Lol

Passion Tea, my first true love (besides the caloric frappuccinos) at Starbucks! My go-to order when I’m just feeling something more on the lighter side! I order a trenta (30oz) passion tea, no water, with raspberry instead of classic, and light ice! This drink is to die for! I love it because it’s not too sweet, and getting the no water with raspberry makes it the perfect balance of tart and sweet for me! Yummy!!!!

Pink Drink

The famous Pink Drink that took the world by storm, lol! I think by now we all know what this drink is, but for the few of you that don’t you’re definitely about to find out! This is my favorite after lunch drink because of how refreshing it is, and how adorable it is as well! I also get this in the big girl size because I can, lol! This is a strawberry acai refresher with coconut milk instead of water, with freeze-dried strawberry slices! This drink is amazing and I haven’t met someone who doesn’t like it!

I’m laughing because this is the drink I get questioned about the most! My venti iced green tea latte with soy (I’ve recently become lactose intolerant, but I used to get this with non-fat milk) and sugar-free vanilla or raspberry syrup. It’s a bright green yummy machine!! I’ll admit the drink looks gross, and green, and you probably think its made with spinach and kale but I promise you it’s not! I want you to go out and just try the drink, see if you love it as much as I do! The best part is, if you purchase your Starbucks drink and you absolutely HATE it, have them remake you something you like! They won’t be mad, because they want you to have a drink that YOU love!

Green Tea Latte with soy and rasberry

Where are all my coffee lovers at? Oh there you are! Alright, so have you tried a venti iced Starbucks double shot? This bad boy right here, is 5 shots of espresso poured right over a venti cup of ice and shaken! My favorite flavor is 5 pumps sugar-free vanilla and 3 pumps raspberry, topped off with soy milk! If you are having a rough morning, go order this wake up machine!! She’s sure to get the job done!

One of the cult favorites, loved by so many, the venti iced caramel macchiato, (with soy for me) and some extra caramel drizzle, (because we all know that’s the best part) with light ice! This is my Friday morning “treat yo self” drink! I love this so much but I try not to get it too often because of how many calories I consume asking for my extra caramel drizzle! LOL

Alright my lovelies, those are my top 5 favorite drinks from Starbucks, these are my true go-to drinks! Let me know some of your favorite drinks from Starbucks by leaving me a comment, or tag me in a post on Instagram! I would LOVE to see what all of you guys are grabbing from Starbucks these days!

Thank you so much for sticking with me, and reading this post today!

Farmers Market Fun!

Processed with VSCO with fp8 preset

Hey Sunshine, let me just start off by saying how much I absolutely LOVE going to the market! My mom and I would go on Saturdays when I was younger to just get out of the house and do something fun. It was quality time that we got to spend together and grow closer, which I really enjoyed. There would be times when my nana would come with us too (which meant I got even more goodies!) While we wouldn’t tell my mom that I got extra goodies, somehow she always ended up figuring it out.

One of my favorite parts of the Farmer’s Market is this little bakery, that makes European pastries. My two favorite pastries are Kiflis and Kolaczki. A Kifli is a crescent shaped pastry cookie with a walnut filling, and then covered in powder sugar. (YUM!) A Kolaczki is a recipe that is made with a cream cheese dough, which bakes up extremely buttery and flaky. The ones that I get are diamond shaped and are filled with apricot and raspberry which are two of my favorite flavors for any type of pastries. My fiancé really enjoys their apple Danish. He loves to bring them home and load them up with cool whip (which I always ask for a bite of, OOPS!) While the apple one is very good, I of course prefer their apricot ones, they are honestly to die for!

It wasn’t until last year that my fiancé (Justin) and I started going to the market together. He now loves going there to get fresh fruits and vegetables, but it is hard for him to get a Saturday off where he works. So when I have the chance to go, I like to go and pick up a couple things for him. One of his favorite things to buy from there is green tomatoes. Have you ever heard of fried green tomatoes? Well he loves them, and his mom makes some killer ones. While they are pretty easy to make you have to eat them fresh! Which for me tends to be a struggle considering the fact that I cannot eat hot things (temperature or spice). Honestly I think I may have just burned my tongue one too many times, haha. Anyways, so this past Saturday I picked him up a few green, yellow, and red tomatoes. He is loving them!

Saturday at the market was extra fun because I got to go with one of my close friends, Camille. Her and I bond over antiques, food, coffee, and of course shopping! So it’s not any surprise that her and I ventured out to the market together. While we would there, we stopped at a little booth that has some boutique like qualities (which is what drew us in, go figure!) We were immediately drawn to the cute jewelry that they had. We both bought some very, very cute pieces to add to our collection. Amid talking to the young gal ringing us up, she asked us if we had ever been to their stand alone store, Ali on the Boulevard. Go figure it is a boutique in South Bend, we looked it up and they have some of the cutest pieces of clothing and jewelry. So if you are local to the area, I recommend checking out Ali on the Boulevard. Camille and I instantly fell in love, and I have no doubt that you will too.
