Top 5 Favorite Highlighters!!!

Hello gorgeous and welcome back to Polka Dots and Peonies: The Blog! I’m so thankful you have decided to join me today because today’s post is one many of you have been requesting, my favorite highlighters! No, I’m not talking about the highlighters you used for taking notes in school, but rather the ones that you apply to your cheek bones in hopes to blind someone (not literally)! By applying highlighter we are trying to achieve the look of a glowing goddess and my top picks will help you achieve just that! Below I have listed my Top 5 highlighters based on their quality for the price!

If your favorite highlighter isn’t mentioned, chances are I haven’t tried it yet! Also let me know what your favorites are in the comment section down below!!! Alright lovelies let’s dive right in!

5. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter

I bought this highlighter last year around Christmas time because it was on sale and I was picking one up for my friend as a gift. I had heard so many good things about these highlighters, and how so many people loved. Sadly I just didn’t fall in love with this like I was hoping to. I don’t know if the shade I picked is the reason why but it just doesn’t give me that blinding highlight that I want, and at $38 for a full size and $19 for a mini I just truly don’t think it is worth the money.

4. Mac Extra Dimension Skin finish Highlighter & Mac Mineralize Skin finish Highlighter

Mac was the first brand of highlighter I purchased back in 2015. I remember going to the Mac counter and trying to decide which one to purchase, (at this time they only had 2 to choose from) and I decided to go with the Mac Mineralize Skin finish Highlighter in Gold Deposit! I remember spending my first $50 at the Mac counter (I also purchased a lipstick.) The Mac highlighters are $34 and I think you get the bang for your buck, these will make you glow, but these are a little more expensive!

3. Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter

This is most beauty goers drug store holy grail for highlighter! It imitates the high-end brand quality and performs sometimes better than those at Sephora and all for a fraction of the price! You can find this beauty ranging from $7.50-$10.00! The down side? Unfortunately there are only 4 colors, and this is always in such high demand it can make it harder to find! So if you come across one, GRAB IT AND RUN!!!! This baby will having you looking like a glazed donut in no time!

2. MORPHExBRETMAN Babe In Paradise Highlighter Pallet

OH MY GOSH I’M IN LOVE!!!! If you don’t have any highlighter and you’re looking to invest in some but don’t want to spend the $40-$50 for a palette, girl this was made for you! I remember the first day this launched in store at Ulta Beauty I was there when the doors opened to buy this!! (I’m unsure if they still sell this in store, I recommend calling before you go.) This is such an amazing bang for your buck ladies! This palette is $29 AND it also comes with a fan brush to apply the highlighter. Here’s how I look at it: each highlighter is $4 and then you are “buying” the brush for $5, I truly think that is such an amazing deal loves!!! Also they’ll be able to see you from mars wearing these highlighters!

1.Anastasia Beverly Hills Highlighters

You can truly buy any of their highlighters and they just don’t disappoint! This is hands down my favorite highlighter, I mean I do own 4 of their highlighting palettes! OOPS! I have 2 of the more neutral palettes they have come out with (That Glow and Gleam) and then 2 of their more colorful palettes (Moonchild and Aurora). If you are looking to “splurge” a little go for these! If you break it down and buy a 4 piece highlighting palette (retails for $40) then you are spending $10 on each highlighter which is equivalent to 1 of the Maybelline highlighters. If you move on and buy one of the $45 palettes that have 6 highlighters you are spending $7.50 a highlighter! Not bad at all you guys! Anastasia also has 2 individual highlighters the Riviera (rose gold) and the Amerzy (gold) that both retail for $28. Personally I have not purchased them only because I feel I get more “bang for my buck” buying one of the palettes, but I have heard amazing things about them both!! Any of these highlighters will have you glowing to the Gods!

Alright my lovelies those are my Top 5 favorite highlighters. I hope you all find on that you love from this list and give it a try! If I had to pick one from the list that you should purchase it would have to be the MORPHExBRETMAN Babe In Paradise Palette, this truly is where you will get the most for your money! The only reason it’s not number one on my list is because of how much I personally like the Anastasia Palettes and don’t mind spending the extra money on them! Also if you decide to purchase the MORPHE Palette many influencers including Bretman Rock have a coupon code that allows you to save 10% off at check out!

Stay Golden Sunshine! I’ll talk to you next time!

Love always, Chloé Danielle

P.S. I am so sorry I don’t have pictures for the MORPHExBRETMAN palette, I can’t find it at the moment. I don’t believe in taking others photos and using them in my blog! Definitely google this palette though she’s GORGEOUS!

A Day At The Orchard!

Welcome back sunshine, I hope your day has been nothing but amazing! Thank you so much for joining me today here on Polka Dots and Peonies: The Blog, I am so so excited about today’s post! If you didn’t already know yesterday my mom and went to the Orchard, how exciting is that?!!?! I know right, tons of fun!

So every year, for as long as I can remember my mom has taking me apple picking at a local Orchard about an hour away from our house! It’s an all day even that takes place in the Klein family (I plan to continue the tradition when I have children), and even my Nana comes with us! The day consists of getting up early grabbing a coffee (possibly a snack as well) and hitting the road! My mom and I like to be some of the first people to get there that way we have better picking! HAHA We usually go in

October or late September because while picking apples we also pick out our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch! Which is probably one of my favorite parts of the day!

So now that you know the background of our days at the Orchard let’s talk about what we were doing there in July! So little to our surprise our favorite place to pick apples also has strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blueberries, and green beans (to pick this time of year, but later in the season they also have an array of vegetables) and we were so excited to go and pick some fresh fruit!

Continuing on with our tradition we woke up super early, grabbed our coffee (you can’t do this trip without coffee) and hit the road! I made sure to bring the aux cord in case you were wondering! In about an hour we found ourselves pulling up to the Orchard and not too many people were there yet! One tractor had taken people out to the fields and we would be the next ones to go!

First stop, red raspberries!! I promise I was probably eating more than I was picking of these gems! I love red raspberries and when my mom told me her pint was full, mine was barely half way there! OOPS! So I decided to pick them and actually put them in the container rather my mouth! You would be surprised how fast your container fills up when you aren’t eating them!!

Raspberries, check! Next stop, strawberries! This was the part I was most looking forward too!! I absolutely LOVE garden fresh strawberries, and if you’ve never had one you’re most definitely missing out! When it came to eating the strawberries I had no shame! Every time my mom looked over at me I was shoving my face with one! Again, by the time my mom had a full basket of them I was only half way there! These bad boys were just so so good I couldn’t help but eat them! Finally I filled my basket full of the prettiest strawberries I could pick!

Now that we had both of our red fruits picked it was on to the blue one! Next wagon ride stop, blueberries! Girl if you thought your hands got stained from picking strawberries, you have another thing coming when picking blueberries! They definitely call them blueberries for a reason! I’ll be completely honest, I’m not the biggest fan of blueberries but when I tried these, they were so much better than the ones you buy in store, (no shock there) that I just wanted to eat them all! My mom and I worked together this time (I promise I didn’t eat as many) and filled up one box pretty quickly!

While we were waiting for the tractor to come pick us back up we started munching on black raspberries! OH MY GOSH, these were AMAZING!!! I have never tired black raspberries before this, I honestly didn’t even know they existed, but before I knew it I was shoving my mouth full of them! No surprise there! Eventually (since I liked them so much) I started picking them and putting them in my container! I just had to have some for home!

Before I knew it momma and I were paying for our fruit and heading home! We got some amazing hand-picked fruit, spent time together, and honestly just had a blast! I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post as much as I loved it!

Let me know if you like posts like these as well as blog post you want to see from me in the future! I love and appreciate each and every one of you!
